A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

The Vision

To advance BSREB as a strengthening rod within the community and to it's most valuable resource, it's members, by offering educational forums, engaging governmental/legislative affairs and serving as a proactive advocate for economic & housing development, and to generate income while promoting it's asset, It's Members.

The Mission

BSREB will embark upon an aggressive campaign to increase it's visibility and profile in the public's eye.

BSREB is a senior citizen yet, where is it's pension?  The organization should be a household term in the community.  This Administration will employ various forms of media (advertisement, public relations campaign, marketing, podcasts/webcasts, print publications, television & radio) to promote the Bedford Stuyvesant Real Estate Board.

To execute this important aspect, I propose a collaboration of the Communications Department, which will serve as the central department for advertising, marketing & public relations to prepare and disseminate information about BSREB.  This committee shall have two co-chairs and as many members as necessary to accomplish the tasks.

Recruitment and Retention of Members

BSREB's most important resource is its members.  During the past two years, we have witnessed growth; however, the climate of our industry has tightened emphasizing an internal need to focus on providing value-driven benefits to retain our existing members while recruiting new members.

A comprehensive membership service will be developed in addition to a recruitment campaign for: Accountants, Allied Service Providers, Appraisers, Architects, Associates, Business Owners, Civil Engineers, Civic Leaders, Electricians, General Contractors, Interior Designers, Landscapers, Locksmiths, Painters, Plumbers, Property managers, Real Estate Agents & Brokers, Structural Engineers and Surveyors.

In addition, we want to attract and retain Attorneys who specialize in the following areas: Probate, Real Estate, Corporate Law, Housing Development and Landlord & Tenant.  Careful consideration will be made to create collateral material such as brocuhes, membership kits, courting and cultivating relationships, accommodating growth for general membership meetings and to focus value driven benefits.

Another important aspect of this important crusade is to increase our NAREB Affiliates recruitment of our members to strengthen and sustain their real estate practice in the following areas:

Investment Division

Real Estate Management Broker Institute

Commercial Sales Division

Young Realtist Division

Home Couneling Division

Allied Members

Women's Council

To Complete filing to obtain 501(C)3 Tax Status

Develop and Educational Institute to advance the overall personal development of our membership for public use and to educate and empower the communities that we serve by offering continuing education, professional certifications, financial literacy and homebuyer/homeowner courses.

Creating a Business Alliance or Merchant's Association to facilitate the need of local business.

To develop, plan and promote signature and special venues.  Holiday Party, Realtist Week, Membership Reception(s), Women's History Program, Costume Ball.

Develop periodicals, newsletters, publications and documentary films.

Board Initiatives

Government, Business Affairs & Community Outreach to develop socio/economic agenda that impact real estate in our community, focusing on creating strategies to build relationships with elected officials, appointed governmental officials at all levels, business entities, community organizations and houses of worship.

Foreclosures

Position BSREB to e used as an operational tool to serve as a component to channel value driven services of our members to combat this problem by providing counseling, property management, bailouts in an aggressive grassroots campaign to flesh out and identify cases of foreclosure ultimately creating a new paradigm shift by establishing a real estate investment trust to enable product to be strategically managed and re-sold within the community, by the community for the preservation of the community.
